I recently discovered a group of musicians who enjoy digging up 2-300 year old hymns and putting them to new music. They are very skilled, and the hymns they have chosen express great, biblical truth. I can’t remember a time I have been more encouraged by music than during the past month or so. The name of the group is Indelible Grace. From their website you can listen to song samples and order a few different albums. They have done a total of four albums of reworked hymns, and one of the artists, Sandra McCracken, has a solo album of hymns, both old and new. It really is wonderful music. If you enjoy the words of the great hymns, but aren’t always aided in your worship by the old melodies, I would encourage you to take a listen. Hopefully we’ll be able to introduce a few of them in the coming months at Sovereign Grace Fellowship, so it’s also a great way to be prepared to join us in worshiping God corporately!
